F.Sc. 2nd Year Chemistry Chapter 2 Notes
This chapter “s-Block Elements” is about s-block elements.These are metals in Group IA and IIA of the periodic table. Their s-orbitals are being filled in their outer most shells, therefore, they are called s-block elements. They are divided into two types.
- Alkali Metals
- Alkaline Earth Metals
The elements of group IA except hydrogen are called “Alkali metals” and the elements of group IIA are called “Alkaline earth metals.
